HERO HALF MARATHON | NORTHWEST ARKANSAS RACE PHOTOGRAPHER

If you haven't seen a firefighter run a half-marathon in full gear, you're missing out.

I don't consider myself a "race photographer," really, but every year, I'm happy to be a sponsor for the Hero Half Marathon. It's a race here in Fayetteville put on by The Spark Foundation as a way to raise funds for local firefighters and community-based health initiatives. Of course, I like seeing my logo on the race shirt and getting promoted in the community, but the real fun comes on the trail, hitting different spots and watching people run over thirteen miles, some of them wearing over 40 pounds worth of gear. Here are a few images from the most recent race in October.

See if you can spot the squirrel handing out donuts and the dude eating a churro.

(And a special shout out to my buddy Jared Sorrells for shooting the finish line again this year!)
