IRONSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY "CELEBRATES" 10 YEARS IN BUSINESS

Well, folks, this isn’t how I expected it to turn out. There was going to be a party.

Here’s a photo of a sad me alone in my birthday suit at a not-a-party to prove it.

On this day ten years ago, I marched my almost-college-graduate butt down to the county courthouse and filed the first paperwork to become an official business in Arkansas. In retrospect, I had no idea what I was doing, in both photography and in business, but I made it work. Ten years later, and I’m still doing what I love. Photography has taken me, directly or indirectly, to over seventeen countries on four continents. I’ve created images for both the largest company in the world and the smallest local non-profit, and have met a lot of great people along the way. I’ve been my own boss, haven’t had to count sick or vacation days, and although it hasn’t always been a bed of roses the whole time, it’s been pretty close. And I couldn’t have done it without the people, like you, who have supported me along the way.

I had big dreams of putting together a big “10 Year” promo — my ten favorite photos, or clients, or moments, or something like that, but with a three month old at home I just haven’t had the energy to do it.

So, instead, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for supporting me throughout the past decade. Comparing what I knew then to what I know now, and comparing my photographs from then to now, I know I've grown a lot, and that I still have a lot to learn. I can’t wait to see what the next decade will bring.

We’ll have a party when it’s allowed. You’ll be invited. Promise.

For now, stay safe, and stay home if you can.
